My companion disappeared from the island

iOS limits every Live Activity to roughly 8 hours, so the island rests after that. Open DynaPro and tap Wake Up; one tap puts your toolbox and companion back. This is an iOS platform limit, not a bug.

Island buttons feel slow

Island taps run through the app in the background, which takes about a second. The tapped control dims immediately to show the tap registered; the state change follows.

I tapped the island and the app opened

A single tap opening the app is an iOS rule for every Live Activity. Touch and hold the island instead; the expanded card with your pinned tools appears and everything there works without opening the app.

The flashlight pin opens the app

iOS does not allow apps to toggle the torch from the background, so the pin opens the Flashlight tool and flips the torch the moment it appears. That is the fastest path Apple allows.

The timer did not ding

Check Settings inside DynaPro: the Permissions section shows whether notifications are allowed. The ding is a local notification, so Focus modes and the mute switch apply to it like any other notification.

How do I change how the island looks?

• Pet or Toolbox style: Settings, or Customize Island. Toolbox style hides the companion entirely.
• Pixel or Studio art: Settings, the adopt screen's toggle, or the mini toggle on your active companion's card.
• Pinned tools: Customize Island, up to 5.

Which iPhones show the Dynamic Island?

iPhone 14 Pro and later. On other iPhones running iOS 17+, everything appears on the Lock Screen instead, and every tool works the same.
